You
read right! In a unanimous vote by the LGUSD Board of Trustees,
the motion was passed to proceed with the construction of an "upscoped"
Lexington School, breaking ground this January. This upscoped plan
will have 14 classrooms, enough to provide for 2 classes per grade,
while still providing 2 flex rooms & and RSP room.

THE VOTE! (and cheers!) |
A big thanks to our amazing community that has an exceptional way
of rallying together and has been there through the thick and the
thin. To our fabulous teachers! To all who have attended community
meetings and worked to come up with strategies. To those that have
lost sleep (and maybe a few hairs) into the wee hours preparing
for meetings, pouring over complex education code documents, complicated
geotechnical reports and construction budget charts. To all who
have spent countless hours in late night Board meetings. To all
who wrote letters, made phone calls, posted signs and talked to
neighbors. To those who met with officials. To all those who signed
petitions, and to all our unsung heroes that quietly work arduously
in the background to get us informed, mobilized and ready to Save
Lex. You are amazing!
After all the mail and phone calls
we have sent the District and Board of Trustees, urging them to
move forward, it is only fitting that we now fill their email boxes
with thank you notes. Please take a moment to send a quick email,
or a quick call. There is draft language on the "write a letter"
page of this site if you would like some ideas on what to say, or
if you need the contact information for both the Board and the district.
Check back on this site for updates as the
move and construction unfuld in the coming months. |
